Harry Bucknall (45) was born in London and brought up in Dorset where his love of the sea and travel was nurtured from an early age sailing and exploring around Brownsea Island, Sandbanks and Poole Harbour. After service in the British Army, Harry worked in the oil and mining industries and as a consultant in the Middle East. He has also produced theatre on the London Fringe, sat on the Olivier Awards Panel and reviewed theatre for Arts Council, London. As a freelance travel writer he has contributed to both the international and national press. He lives in London and, whenever time permits, returns to his native Dorset.
